Contact Center Specialist

Position Summary

The Contact Center Specialist is focused on providing professional and quality customer service with a focus on guiding our commercial farmers and home gardeners. This position is key to the success of Johnny's and the success of our customers and works as a team. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated team player with an aptitude for finding the right solutions to customers' needs and wants. This is a full-time position based out of our Fairfield location.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver a superior customer experience to every customer and strive for one-call resolution.
  • Handles inbound calls. Ability to handle up to 50+ calls per day on high-demand days.
  • Provide accurate and timely responses to our customers through multiple channels.
  • Learn and master our varied software systems and understand how each contributes to supporting a positive customer experience.
  • Completes, maintains, and processes pertinent documentation and records with high attention to detail to ensure data accuracy in the order entry systems and other technology systems as needed.
  • Provide growing advice and recommend products and services with clarity and confidence.
  • Support customers to resolve problems including order status questions, and other concerns and issues.
  • Takes the initiative to obtain and consistently upgrade personal product knowledge by participating in training opportunities.
  • Understands and follows the established department protocols, and processes.
  • Builds relationships and works closely with co-workers, at all levels of the organization in a positive manner. Utilizes the knowledge and experiences of the JSS staff to support the customer experience.
  • Identify and escalate priority issues.
  • Regular attendance, punctuality, and adherence to an agreed-upon schedule of availability is an essential function of this position.
  • Support other teams and departments with needs and tasks.

Education

  • High school diploma or GED required.

Qualifications & Skills

  • An interest or prior experience in agriculture, farming, or home gardening.
  • Intermediate Computer Skills.
  • Ability to work with more than one computer program simultaneously.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office products.
  • Solid attention to detail. Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Adaptability and ability to self-direct, work in a fast paced, ever-changing environment and handle multiple priorities.
  • Maintain a friendly but professional attitude.
  • Proven ability to learn difficult information quickly.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities.

Expected Hours

40 hours per week, you will be expected any variance of these hours, 8-hour days.

  • Jan–April
    • Mon–Fri, 8AM–8PM
    • Sat–Sun, 8AM–5PM
  • May
    • Mon–Fri, 8AM–7PM
    • Sat, 8AM–5PM
  • June–Dec
    • Mon–Fri, 8AM–5PM
    • Sat, 8AM–5PM (June and Dec only)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentation.
  • Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.
  • Ability to sit at a computer for at least 75% of the work day.
  • Ability to bend, pull, and lift up to 25 pounds.
