This tropical-looking cardoon is specially bred for cut flower use. Serrated, silver-green leaves add dramatic flair to arrangements or deserve a prominent position in the gardenscape. Foliage can be harvested anytime but this tender perennial will not bloom until the second season. Zones 6-10. Ht. 36-48". Avg. 850 seeds/oz. Packet: 30 seeds.

Growing Information:
GERMINATION: 7-10 days at 70-75°F

CULTURE: Indoors - sow 6-8 weeks before last frost. Plant 2-4 seeds 1/4" deep in individual pots. Keep moist until emergence. Thin to 1 per pot when first true leaves appear. Harden off and transplant out after danger of frost has passed. Outdoors - In mild areas where winter low is above 14°F (-10°C) sow seeds in fall and harvest in the spring.

USE: Flowers and foliage for flower arrangements. Borders and landscapes.

LIGHT/SOIL: Full sun in rich, fertile, well-drained soil.

SPACING: 18-24"

HARVEST: When flowers partially open. Harvest foliage at any stage.
