Essential in Vietnamese and Thai cooking.
One of the most aromatic and flavorful of the Thai basils, Queenette has small olive-green/purplish leaves, red stems and purple flowers. It can be used as a vegetable in curries and spicy dishes, releasing its anise flavor, or as an ornamental in the garden releasing its distinctive anise aroma.
