Growing Information:
CULTURE: Direct seed from mid-spring onward in a 2-4" wide band, about 30 seeds/ft. for salad mix. Sow every 3 weeks for a continuous supply. Harvest by pulling out plants, or cutting the whole plant just below the root attachment, or by clipping individual leaves for cut-and-come-again. Arugula is hardy enough in most locations to winter over from late summer to early fall seeding. After plants flower the leaves can still be used but taste is sharper. AVG. DIRECT SEEDING RATE: For bunching: 500'/oz., 8,000'/lb., 3.6 lbs./acre in rows 18" apart. For salad mix: 250'/oz., 4,000'/lb. LAB TESTED SEED LOTS: Our arugula seed lots are tested for seed-borne pseudomonas bacteria, and we offer only lots where none is found. A disease-free test does not, however, guarantee a seed lot to be disease-free, only that in the sample tested the pseudomonas pathogen was not found. SEED SPECS: SEEDS/OZ.: 15,000 avg. MINI: 1 gm. (avg. 500 seeds, sows 10'). |

Organically Grown or Manufactured
OG means "Organic" and represents seeds that have been harvested from plants that are grown organically; i.e., without synthetic fertilizers or pesticides. On tools, supplies and equipment, it identifies products that meet the National Organic Program rules. They are OMRI listed when noted in the description. Always contact your local certifying agency for organic status. |
