Returns & Exchanges

At Johnny's Selected Seeds, your satisfaction is guaranteed. Should you need to return or exchange an item, select your location and refer to the corresponding guidelines.

U.S. & Canada Return Guidelines

  • All U.S. and Canada returns require preauthorization and must be accompanied by an RMA# (return merchandise authorization number).
    TO REQUEST A RETURN MERCHANDISE AUTHORIZATION (RMA#):
    Call 877-564-6697 and request an RMA# OR Email Us.
  • If we shipped you the wrong product or it arrived defective or damaged, we will send a replacement at no charge or refund the full purchase price, provided the item is returned to us in its original packaging.
  • If you ordered the wrong item, wrong size, or simply changed your mind, we will refund the purchase price minus the shipping cost, provided the item is returned to us in its original packaging.
  • A 10% restocking fee may be assessed if the original packaging has been opened, or if the item has been used and/or is not returned in original condition.
  • Seed. We will accept authorized returns of unopened seed within 60 days of the original order ship date.
  • Live Plant Material. We cannot accept returns of live plant stock. If you receive a damaged plant, Contact Us immediately.
  • Mushrooms. We will accept authorized returns of unopened products within 30 days of the original order ship date. If you suspect your item is defective or damaged after opening the package, please Contact Us to troubleshoot or for refund options.
  • Tools & Supplies. Under normal wear and tear, Johnny's tools should endure many years of use. If you are not 100% satisfied with a tool or a supply, we will accept authorized returns within 12 months of the original ship date.
  • Wholesalers & Dealers. We will accept authorized wholesaler and dealer returns within 30 days of the invoice date.
  • Special Orders. All special orders are considered custom orders and are nonrefundable.
  • Once we receive your return, we will process your refund and issue a credit.
  • If you paid by credit card, the credit will be applied to your credit card account or a refund check will be sent. Please note that it can take from 2–7 business days for the credit to post, depending upon your credit institution's policies.
  • If you paid by check or money order, a refund check will be mailed to you.

International Return Guidelines

  • We do not accept returns for orders shipped outside of the U.S. and Canada.
  • All of our products are 100% guaranteed. If we shipped you the wrong product or it arrived defective or damaged, we will send a replacement at no charge or refund the full purchase price. To initiate this process, please reach out to our Contact Center at 1-877-564-6697 or [email protected].
  • Claims for defects in Johnny's Selected Seeds' products must be presented to Johnny's Selected Seeds as soon as practicable, and in any event, within 30 days of discovery. See our guarantee for more information.

To quickly exchange an item, simply place a new order. We will ship your new item right away. We will need to charge you the purchase price, but once we receive your return, we will credit you the cost of the original item.
