Echinacea
One of the most important genera of indigenous American medicinal plants. Members of this species are very hardy perennials with long bloom periods. Medicinal: Both the roots and aerial parts are used in teas and tinctures. All the echinaceas are used for support and stimulation of the immune system. Normally grown for 3–4 years before harvest for sizable roots.
