GERMINATION: 7-14 days at 64-77°F (17.8-25°C).
CULTURE: Greenhouse (recommended) - Sow in individual pots or containers; light aids germination. Keep moist. Transplant to beds 2-4 weeks after emergence. Do not delay planting. Outdoors - Sow after danger of frost is past (if season is sufficiently long). Barely cover. Thin. Alternatively, transplant out greenhouse-grown plugs after frost.
GROWING ON: 62°F (16.7°C) nights, 64-66°F (17.8-18.9°C) days. Protect from aphids and thrips in seedling stage. Low temperatures and less than 12 hours of light per day may cause comb shattering and flat stems. Avoid water stress. Avoid overhead irrigation once flowers begin to develop.
LIGHT/SOIL: Full sun in well-drained, poor soil. Provide shade only if light intensity is very high. Short days induce flowering; schedule to allow sufficient long days for stem development. Do not fertilize.
SPACING: 5-6". Horizontal netting advisable.
USE: Fresh or dried cut flower for professional growers.
HARVEST: Fresh - Upper diameter of comb is approx. 4" and lower 2" are past flowering. Dried - Remove foliage, hang.
