Sudangrass (Brown Mid Rib) (F1) (OG)

Product ID: 2826G

Cover Crops/Farm Seeds > Legumes & Grasses

Vigorous summer cover crop outcompetes weeds.

An excellent catch crop for excess nitrogen, sudangrass reduces nematode and symphylan populations as it decomposes. It grows quickly and needs to be mowed regularly to control height (up to 7 ft.). Avg. 45,000 seeds/lb. Plant late spring to early summer when the soil is warm, 1-2 lb./1,000 sq.ft. (30-40 lb./acre). NOTE: Great for livestock forage, but should be grazed only when mature and NEVER after a frost due to high levels of glucosides, which convert to prussic acid and are toxic. Organically grown. Avg. 25,000 seeds/lb.
