GERMINATION: 10-14 days at 70-75°F (21-24ºC).
CULTURE: Indoors (recommended) - Sow 8-10 weeks before planting out in individual containers. Plant 2-3 seeds per container, gently pressing seed into medium. Thin to one plant per container. Transplant outdoors after danger of frost is past. Outdoors - Sow after last frost date, gently pressing seed into soil. Thin when true leaves appear.
SPECIAL CULTURAL NOTE: Susceptible to rust (a fungal disease). Give space to allow airflow and grow in fertile soil with ample moisture to minimize problem.
LIGHT/SOIL: Full sun in rich, moist, well-drained soil.
SPACING: 12-24" apart. Staking required in windy locations.
HARVEST: Cut when 1/3 to 1/2 of flowers have opened.
USE: Cut flower. Excellent as focal point or background plant. Edible.
