SOWING: Transplant (recommended): Sow seeds in individual containers 6-8 weeks before the last frost date. Cover seed 1/8". Thin to 1 seedling per pot when the first true leaves appear. Transplant outside after the last frost. Do not allow the plant to become root bound. Direct seed: Direct seed after the last frost.
LIGHT PREFERENCE: Sun. More sunlight will product deeper purple foliage.
SOIL REQUIREMENTS: Average soil. Tolerant of heat and moisture.
PLANT SPACING: 12".
HARDINESS ZONES: Annual.
HARVEST: Fresh or dried: Harvest when the spikes are fully developed, but just before pollen shed.
USES: Excellent fresh cut flower or dried. Borders, mass plantings, containers, or as a striking backdrop.
