Rudbeckia triloba Organic Flower Seed
Densely branched, productive filler.
Profuse blooms of adorable, 1 1/2– 2 1/2", bright yellow flowers with small, black/brown centers. Wiry, well-branched stems have few leaves, making this an excellent cut flower. Also serves as a filler or accent flower in bouquets. This native US wildflower tolerates most conditions, including drought, once established. Short-lived perennial in Zones 3–9; typically flowers in the first year but may not bloom until second year if heavily crowded. Stems are reddish in color and have fine hairs. Leaves at the base of the plant are three-lobed, as indicated by the plant's Latin name species: triloba. Also known as brown-eyed Susan and browneyed Susan. USDA Certified Organic.Specs:

SOWING: Transplant - Sow 5-7 weeks before planting out. Cover seed lightly (1/64"). For best results, prechill for 30 days: Place seedling flats outside or in the refrigerator and keep moist for 30 days. After chilling, move flats into a warm location until emergence. Direct seed - Gently press seed into soil as soon as soil can be worked in early spring or fall. Pinching not required. Reseeds.
LIGHT PREFERENCE: Sun/Part Shade.

PLANT SPACING: 18-24".
HARDINESS ZONES: Zones 3-9.
VASE LIFE: 10-14 days. Newly opened flowers might wilt when first harvested but will rehydrate and correct. More mature blooms that have been open for a few days will be firmer at harvest.
HARVEST: When blooms are completely open.
SOIL REQUIREMENTS: Average soil. Drought tolerant once established.
USES: Excellent cut flower, beds, and borders.
