DAYS TO GERMINATION: 3-8 days at 70-72°F (21-22°C).

SOWING: Transplant (recommended): Sow 6-8 weeks before last frost in individual containers or seedling trays. Cover seed lightly. If started in seedling trays, transplant into cell packs or individual containers when large enough to handle. Transplant outside after last frost. Direct seed: Only in warm climates; sow after last frost for fall blooming.

LIGHT PREFERENCE: Sun.

SOIL REQUIREMENTS: Well-drained, fertile soil.

PLANT SPACING: 10-12".

HARDINESS ZONES: Annual.

HARVEST: Fresh or dried: Harvest when panicles are fully open. Seed heads harvested once they have shed pollen have a tendency to shatter.

USES: Excellent fresh cut or dried flower. Good for naturalistic gardens and mixed grass plantings. Outstanding in containers.
