Adds a new dimension to salad mixes.
Bright, light green leaves are curly and ruffled for loft, with good weight and shelf life. Regrows for multiple cuttings. Does well for baby leaf year-round with winter protection. At full size, tender ruffled leaves on narrow white petioles can be bunched like Vitamin Green. Mini: 220 seeds. Packet: 330 seeds.

CULTURE: Sow from early spring through midsummer. In the South, greens are well adapted to fall plantings. Sow 15 seeds/ft., 1/4" deep in 2" wide bands in rows 18" apart. Harvest before flowering. For salad mix: In a 2" to 4" wide band sow 60 seeds/ft. Clip 4-5 wk. old leaves. PESTS: Flea beetles can be controlled with rotenone or pyrethrin, or better yet by covering with floating row cover (see Index) from day of sowing. AVG DIRECT SEEDING RATE: For bunching: 830'/oz., 13,000'/lb. At spacing above. For salad mix: 210'/oz., 3,300'/lb. at above spacing. SEED SPECS: Seed counts and seed size in this grouping vary. AVG.
