Savoyed-Leaf Spinach
Savoy-leaf spinach has crinkled or blistered leaves that give it the wonderful textured appearance considered traditional for spinach in the Eastern US. The degree of texture varies from semi-savoyed to deeply savoyed. In trialing spinach varieties, Johnny's seeks a combination of flavor, rapid growth, slowness to bolt, and disease resistance. For details regarding which varieties are best sown and harvested in seasonal slots, see our Spinach Planting Program.
