Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Operations Supervisor for our evening shift at Johnny's Selected Seeds. This role will oversee key operational areas including Order Fulfillment, Seed Packing, Replenishment, Receiving, and Inventory Management. As a vital part of our team, you will ensure outstanding service for our customers while fostering a positive work environment and managing a dynamic workload. Additionally, you will participate in the continuous improvement process, management of daily production metrics and supporting employees in all aspects of the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and safe working environment for all employees.
• Foster positive engagement, mentorship, and communication within the team.
• Supervise day-to-day operations and handle dynamic labor needs across managed areas.
• Engage team members by prioritizing, assigning, and reviewing work to meet departmental efficiency and quality goals.
• Engage with team members and provide feedback.
• Collaborate with other departments and shifts to ensure seamless operations.
• Utilize data-driven decision-making to drive business performance and embrace change initiatives.
• Encourage the adoption of new processes and technologies.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Identify trends or irregularities and communicate with the Operations Manager to develop corrective plans.
• Facilitate Operational Excellence Meetings to review metrics and goals with staff.
• Resolve employee queries or issues promptly through effective communication and coordination.
• Provide constructive and appreciative feedback to Operations Associates.
• Develop individual goals and objectives, with follow-up focused on empathy and consistency.
• Participate in the development of departmental goals, budget, staffing, and system requirements.
• Assist with special projects for continuous improvement.
• Complete administrative tasks and reporting functions on time.
• Willing to work weekend shifts as needed.

Education

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Bachelor of Science in Business Management or related field (preferred).

Qualifications & Skills

• 1 - 2 years Supervisory experience
• Excellent communication and Active Listening skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Working knowledge of shipping, production, and/or warehouse operations
• Strong problem solving and investigation acumen
• Strong mathematical skills
• Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and consistency
• Exceptional organization and Time Management Skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to motivate others through engagement, delegation and commitment to workforce development
• Computer literacy, including Word, Excel, Power BI, and database proficiency
• LEAN/Six-Sigma exposure and understanding as it relates to Operational Environments and Continuous Improvement

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand/walk for up to 8+ hours per day
• Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentation
• Ability to bend, pull, and lift up to 70 lbs with assistance
• Ability to freely access all areas and locations of the business
• Ability to sit in front of a computer for 30% or more of the time
