Additional Information

DAYS TO GERMINATION: Direct Seed: 12-16 days at 60-65°F (16-18°C).
Transplant: 7-14 days at 68-86°F (20-30°C) alternating day and night temperatures.

SOWING: Make 2-3 successive sowings 2 weeks apart for a continuous summer harvest. Support may be needed if grown in windy areas.
Direct seed (recommended): Sow seed thinly in rows, covering lightly, in early spring after the last heavy frost. In the South, sow in the fall.
Transplant: Chill seed at 40-45°F (5-8°C) for 1-2 weeks prior to sowing. Sow 4-5 weeks before planting out. Grow at 58-62°F (4-17°C) to establish seedlings. When first true leaves appear, transplant into larger containers. Harden off and transplant outdoors after the last frost.

SOIL REQUIREMENTS: Average, well-drained soil. Will tolerate dry soil.

HARVEST:Fresh: When approximately 80% of flowers in the umbel are open and there is no hint of pollen shed. Harvesting before 80% of flowers are open tends to reduce the uptake of water and cause the flowers to wilt.
Dried: When the flowers are fully open and with no hint of pollen shed.

USES: Excellent cut flower. Backs of beds and borders.
