Ideal for sealing holes filled with plug spawn or sawdust spawn in inoculated logs. Each pound of wax offers the ability to seal around 10 logs, though the exact number may fluctuate based on the logs' dimensions and whether you decide to seal the ends. Ensuring these holes are properly sealed is paramount for success, as it provides vital protection to the spawn, safeguarding it against both dehydration and contamination. For fall inoculation when applying in temperatures below 50°F (10°C), it's important to note that daubers and wax can harden quickly. To combat this issue, we recommend using a plugged-in crockpot for coating the daubers with wax, instead of a pot taken directly from the stove. This ensures a smoother and more manageable application process.
