Densely-branched, productive filler.

Profuse blooms of adorable, 1 1/2"– 2 1/2", bright yellow flowers with small, black/brown centers. Wiry, well-branched stems have few leaves making this an excellent cut flower. Also serves as a filler or accent flower in bouquets. This native U.S. wildflower tolerates most conditions, including drought, once established. Short-lived perennial in Zones 3-9; typically flowers first year but may not bloom until second year if heavily crowded. Stems are reddish in color and have fine hairs. Leaves at the base of the plant are three-lobed, as indicated by the plant's Latin name species: triloba. Also known as brown-eyed Susan and browneyed Susan. Ht. 48-60". Avg. 51,300 seeds/oz. DAYS TO GERMINATION: 7-10 days at 70-75°F (21-24°C).

SOWING: Transplant (recommended): Sow 6-7 weeks before last frost. Cover seed lightly. For best results, prechill for 30 days. Place seed flats outside or in the refrigerator and keep moist for 30 days. After chilling, move flats into a warm location until emergence. Transplant to larger container when first true leaves appear.
Direct seed: Sow seeds as soon as soil can be worked in early spring or autumn. Gently press seed into soil. Keep soil surface moist until emergence. Thin when seedlings have first true leaves.

LIGHT PREFERENCE: Sun/Part Shade.

SOIL REQUIREMENTS: Average soil. Drought tolerant once established.

PLANT SPACING: 18-24".

HARDINESS ZONES: Zones 3-9.
