Reformulated version of IRT by the original developer, Prof. Brent Loy of the Univ. of New Hampshire. Near-infrared light passes through while visible light is blocked. The results of using black solar mulch are suppressed weed growth and warmer soil temperatures than with black poly mulch. Avg. soil temp. increase is 8-10°F/-13.3. to -12°C. Heat-loving plants, such as melons, squash, pumpkins, cucumbers, and eggplants grow faster and produce earlier. 1.0 mil. embossed material is suitable for mechanical mulch layers. Available in two sizes.
