CULTURE: Direct seed mid-spring through early summer, 10 seeds/ft., 1/4" deep, rows 18" apart. Thin seedlings to 6" apart. TRANSPLANTING: Use 1-2" cell-type containers, sowing 3 seeds/cell, 1/4" deep. Thin to 1 plant/cell. Grow for 4-6 weeks or until plants can be removed without disturbing roots. Transplant carefully as disturbing roots causes bolting. Transplant outdoors in mid-spring to late summer 6" apart. Fertile, regularly irrigated, well-drained soil and cool temperatures (below 75°F (24°C)) produce the best bulbs. Clip off any seed stalks that may form.
