Additional Information

CULTURE: Magenta Spreen does well in any well-drained soil. Tolerant of both hot and cold weather, it is best planted early spring through midsummer. Replant every couple of weeks to ensure a continuous harvest until frost.
For best germination when direct seeding, plant outdoors in early spring as soon as the ground can be worked. Sow 20 seeds per foot, covering 1/2", in rows 18-30" apart.
If transplanting, plant in moistened seed starting mix and refrigerate at 40°F (5°C) for 7 days to help break dormancy. After 7 days, grow seedlings at 60-80°F (16-27°C).
Winter Crops: In mild winter areas, sow in late summer. In cold regions, sow in late summer in the greenhouse or poly-tunnel. Add a fabric row cover in very cold weather.

Prevent disease with crop rotation and sanitation.

Pick leaves when plants reach 6-8" tall or more. The plants will continue to produce young, edible leaves.

SEEDS/OZ.: Avg. 56,800 seeds.
