DRO141TX

(F1) Tomato Seed

Product ID: 3195

Vigorous rootstock with more generativity.

DRO141TX is a tomato rootstock that puts a higher proportion of energy into the fruit than other vegetative rootstocks. For growers who tend to have excessively vegetative plants early in the season, this may be easier to balance. Maintains a high level of energy for an extended period to keep the crop vigorous through high temperatures and a long season. Replaced DRO138TX. High resistance to fusarium races 1, 2, fusarium crown and root rot, leaf mold, corky root rot, tomato mosaic virus, and verticillium wilt. For use as rootstock only. Primed seed to improve germination. Avg. 18,900 seeds/oz.

Additional Information

CULTURE: For more information on grafting with rootstock tomatoes, please refer to one of our technical guides: Top Grafting Tomatoes or Side Grafting Tomatoes. Once the grafted plants have healed, continue by growing and managing the plants as you would normally.
Grow plants at 66-68°F (19-20°C) day and night temperature. After cotyledon leaves have expanded, fertilize with a complete nutrient solution (EC 1.0, pH 5.8) or equivalent as needed to keep plants dark green and healthy; increase EC as plants grow. When transplanting into the greenhouse, maintain 73-77°F (23-25°C) day and night temperature for a few days after transplanting to promote rapid vegetative growth and root establishment. Once fruit begins to set, lower night temperature to 62-66°F (17-19°C) and keep a daytime temperature of 68-72°F (20-22°C).
TRELLISING: It is recommended to prune the plants to 1-2 stems and trellis up a string.
HARVEST: Fully vine-ripen fruit only for local retailing or use. Pick fruit less ripe the further the distance and the longer the time between harvest and the customer.
DISEASES AND PESTS: Use crop rotation or new media to reduce soil-borne disease problems. Regularly schedule releases of beneficial insects to control pests.
TRANSPLANTS: Avg. 950 plants/1,000 seeds.
