Johnny's Selected Seeds is a rapidly growing, mail-order and web-based, employee-owned seed company located in rural Central Maine. We operate from a certified-organic research farm in Albion, Maine, as well as from offices in nearby Winslow and Fairfield. We're just across the Kennebec River from the town of Waterville, home of Colby and Thomas Colleges and the Maine International Film Festival. If you're an outdoor enthusiast — fishing, hiking, skiing, boating, biking, and more — you'll love this region: Johnny's is situated about halfway between the coast and the western mountains, and we're just 90 minutes from Moosehead Lake and Maine's unspoiled north woods.

Product & Business Unit Manager • Tools & Supplies

The Product & Business Unit Manager for Tools & Supplies oversees and advances Johnny's Tools and Supplies product line to help our customers become more successful growers. This individual is responsible for bringing to market superior farming tools and supplies and advancing Johnny's current product lines. This involves identifying suppliers with the best-in-class products to bring into our trialing program and product offering; working directly on the design of new farming tools; establishing manufacturing relationships with fabrication shops to ensure a steady supply of tools that meet Johnny's product standards; and leading and managing our Tools & Supplies Product Team. The business unit manager has full P&L responsibility for Johnny's Tools & Supplies business and serves as the internal and external spokesperson for the product line.

Seasonal Operations Associates • Perishables Distribution

Johnny's is currently seeking to hire Seasonal Operations Associates for our Waterville warehouse. Every year we process thousands of orders of garlic, bulbs, and potatoes. We are looking for an energetic crew to assist us with this 4–6-week garlic and bulb processing project. Project associates are responsible for handling small to large boxes of product that need to be sorted, packed, and shipped. The ideal candidates for the positions are self-motivated individuals with excellent organizational skills. This is a seasonal position with a tentative start date in September. Hours are 8:30am–5:00pm, Monday–Friday. Ours is a seasonal business, and hours will vary during our busy season as well as in the off-season.

The Seed Production Manager manages strategy and production of seed for Johnny's Selected Seeds. The Seed Production Manager is responsible for the planning and execution of all contract seed productions for exclusive, non-exclusive, and proprietary varieties. The Foundation Seed Manager reports to this role. The Seed Production Manager reports to the Vice President of Research & Development. This position is based at the Albion research farm.
