Junior Marketing Analyst
Hybrid Position, Fairfield, ME

Position Summary

The Junior Marketing Analyst supports the Marketing team at Johnny's Selected Seeds by gathering, analyzing, and reporting on data related to customer behavior, campaign effectiveness, product performance, and market trends. This role is ideal for an early-career professional with strong marketing acumen, attention to detail, and an interest in sustainable agriculture and data-driven decision-making. This hybrid position is based at Johnny's Selected Seeds Fairfield Corporate Office in Fairfield, Maine.

Responsibilities

  • Data Collection & Analysis
  • Track and analyze customer interactions across digital and traditional marketing channels
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of dashboards and regular performance reports using Power BI, Excel, Looker Studio, and other tools
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sales, customer acquisition, customer retention, and related spending
  • Collaborate with Senior Analyst to optimize data-structures and data-processes
  • Collaborate with Senior Analyst to design new report solutions
  • Campaign & Content Analysis
  • Support A/B testing efforts and report findings to improve campaign results
  • Audit company data for irregularities and errors and suggest updates to improve data integrity
  • Assist, as a representative of Sale and Marketing, with implementation of new technologies that require integrations between systems
  • Ensure compliance with company policies
  • Market & Customer Insights
  • Conduct research on customer demographics, behavior, and preferences through various methods including surveys, interviews, and online insights
  • Analyze product performance across customer segments and channels
  • Identify trends and insights to inform future marketing strategies
  • Perform competitive analysis research projects to identify opportunities
  • Collaboration & Support
  • Assist with compiling data and visuals for presentations and strategic discussions
  • Write SOPs and workflow documents to describe data & analysis processes
  • Respond to ad hoc requests for data and reports
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on Sales and Marketing research projects
  • Present findings to Senior Analyst and business stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Business, Data Analytics, Economics, or a related field
  • Demonstrable experience utilizing large datasets for analysis and reporting
  • Experience explaining analysis to business stakeholders
  • Strong background in Excel required
  • 2-4 years of experience in a marketing, data analysis, or business intelligence role
  • Highly organized and strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Team-player mindset; must be willing to work independently for long periods of time but enjoy collaborating
  • Experience in any of the following a plus: Salesforce Reporting, SQL, MS Access, Python, R, PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Google Looker Studio).
  • Knowledge of the seed, agriculture, or horticulture industry.
  • Interest in sustainability, small farms, and gardening communities.

Work Environment

  • This position may be either hybrid or in-office. Occasional travel to the farm or marketing events may be required.
  • Capable of sitting for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to bend, pull, and lift to 20 pounds.
