Beautiful purple florets and green stems are sweet and tender, and can be eaten fresh or cooked. Good for bunching. For winter crops in colder climates, seed in late summer, early fall and transplant to hoop house or under rowcover for accelerated growth and higher yields. For late summer crop, seed early spring. Long harvest window of 3-5 weeks. Avg. 100,700 seeds/lb. Mini: 100 seeds.

CULTURE: DIRECT SEEDING: Tolerates light frost. From early spring to late summer, sow 10-12 seeds/ft., 1/4- 1/2" deep, rows 18-24" apart.
TRANSPLANTING: Can also be transplanted. See "Cabbage".
HARVEST: Clip and bunch entire plants when buds appear, or pick just buds for extended yield.
INSECT PESTS: Use fabric row covers (see Index) on the day of planting to exclude maggot flies and flea beetles.
