Long, strong stems with 1 1/2-2" blooms in apricot, bright pink, wine red, pale purple, creamy yellow, dark purple, pale pink, and pure white. Early blooming series. Performed well in our spring, early summer, and fall trials; among the most uniform in bloom time and stem length. 55-60% double-flowering without selection; some selection possible. Ht. 24-32". Avg. 17,000 seeds/oz. Packet: 50 seeds.
DAYS TO GERMINATION: 7-14 days at 65-75°F (18-24°C).
SOWING: Transplant: Sow 2 seeds/cell, 1/4" deep in 128-cell plug trays 8-10 weeks before last frost. Cover seeds lightly with vermiculite to help retain moisture. Transplant to packs or larger containers 14-21 days after sowing. Direct seed: Sow seed after last frost.
SELECTION: Select for double flower by observing color, size, and shape of the cotyledon. After approximately 7-10 days after emergence selecting the lighter green seedling with an oval shape will produce double flowers. Discard the very small seedlings, ones that are darker green in color, and those with rounder shaped cotyledons, which will produce single flowers.
