Meryt (F1) Onion Seed
Meryt (F1) Onion Seed
A white cipollini that's actually easy to grow.
A solution for growers who want more marketable crops of white cipollinis, which can be difficult to grow. Meryt's upright, blue-green tops tolerate thrips pressure well. Bulbs are very uniform with mostly single centers. Thin necks dry down easily, and thick skins protect the bulbs from greening in the sun. Good, pungent flavor. A bit later to mature than Bianca di Maggio, but worth the wait. Avg. 1 1/2–3" diam. x 3/4–1" depth. Best for short-term storage.Specs:

Allium cepaCULTURE:
Sow in early spring in 2-4" wide bands or single rows 4" apart, about 1/2" between seeds. Cover 1/4- 1/2". Thinning is not necessary. Keep free of weeds. As with all onions, full sun, consistent soil moisture, and a fertile soil with a pH of 6.2-6.8 are preferable.HARVEST:
Pull by the bunch whenever needed. No skin forms until 2-3 months into the season, making mini onions easy to wash and prepare.ADAPTATION:
