Savoy-leaf spinach has crinkled or blistered leaves that give it the wonderful textured appearance that is traditional in the Eastern U.S. The degree of texture varies from semi-savoyed to deeply savoyed. A combination of flavor, rapid growth, slowness to bolt, and disease resistance are all factors that led Johnny's to select these varieties. Varieties are best sown and harvested in certain seasonal slots. For details, see our Spinach Planting Program.
