'Olly' Early-Yielding Red Bell Pepper Variety From Johnny's
This is one of our newer varieties, 'Olly'. 'Olly' works well both in the field and in the greenhouse, but as you can see here, it works very well with our more intensive pruning regimen.
We brought in 'Olly' because over 'Sprinter', it offers improved earliness. So for those growers who are really trying to maximize early red bell sales, this variety is good for you. It is a little bit more generative, over vegetative, and so trying to provide a little bit more support and a little bit more nutrients for it so that the plants can support the larger fruit load is probably a good idea for people trying to grow this variety.
Overall, the fruit are very uniform and have a nice eating quality. The yields, particularly early, tend to be very high, and we're quite happy with this variety being added to our assortment.
