'Black Parrot' Late-Flowering Parrot Tulip

A closer look at 'Black Parrot' tulip from Johnny's

I'm here with some of our later flowering parrot tulips. This variety in front of me is 'Black Parrot'.

This is a really interesting one, just for the dark color. It makes a nice dramatic contrast to a lot of the more pastel-colored tulips that are typically flowering.

You can see the plot is nice and tall. The blooms are a little bit on the smaller side for a parrot tulip. They open to 2 1/2 to 3 inches wide. But again, they make up for the smaller bloom size with the striking and dramatic dark purple color on these blooms.

The buds are also really interesting as they develop. They’re green on the outside and then they have this really nice, dark purple edge to them.

Again, this is 'Black Parrot', a really nice late flowering parrot tulip, a little bit smaller blooms, but really interesting, and dramatic coloring.
